I met artist Nathan Hayden many years ago, for a very brief moment I studied studio art at UCSB and Nathan was a grad student at the time. Long story short, I left UCSB to purse photography, but would see Nathan around town (it’s a small town). Eventually, our paths crossed and friend groups merged and we became friends.
Over the years I’ve photographed Nathan a handful of times, usually when he’s starting a new project, and I’m constantly inspired by his creativity and experimentations into different mediums.
I’m always excited to see what he’s up to, and spend time in his studio and with his family - his wife, Hannah Vainstein is also an amazing artist.
